Musing on a comfortable sofa

Here I am!

I'm writing you from our little comfortable super cozy sofa.

Do you know that this sofa has got the power of making relaxing and sleeping every single person who sits down?

My friend Moni and her future husband comes here on Saturday evening very very often. They are our Best Friends!
We are used to have dinner together: so we girls in the afternoon think about what to cook, we go out to buy the ingredientes, if I don't have them at home.
Than dinner time arrives and we start to cook while we talk about our week.
We prepare a rich table than we eat, talk together, having a lot of fun, because we love when we are all together.
Ok, than I clean the kitchen, turn on the dishwasher...now the moment arrives....

The boys start to play with cards and Moni and I sit on THE sofa...
We start to talk, then we watch a movie on tv....ok...15 minutes later we sleep on the sofa......

This afternoon I turn on TV and I found the tv series Bewitched.
The second season. I love so much Bewitched!

But

Do you know why I love so much this series?

I love the way Samantha and Darrin lives.

They love each other so much.
She's a happy housewife, she takes care of her family and always put in second place the fact to have magical power to please her husband and children.

Maybe this post I'm writing will be considered stupid, too old fashioned, chauvinist (even if I'm a woman).

I reapeat again I love the way Samantha and Darrin lives.

Samantha's magical power symbolize all that a "modern" woman call job or realization outside home.
Samantha understands and knows that her power can cause problems to her husband, so she chooses family and this is not a real sacrifice for her, because she loves her husband and not only herself. Her relatives always came to visit her and tell her that she should use magic, but she is keeps still on her decision.

Forgive me for the extreme comparison...but Samantha's behavior is similar to the concept of Biblical Role for a woman.
I have read a book that talks about Biblical Role of a woman ( Fascinating Womanhood ). I will talk about this book very soon. I agree with it about this topic.

When a woman understands that family is the most important thing of the world, we have the key to reach happiness.

I'm not saying that a working woman is bad (maybe there are situations today in which she has to work to help family), but it's a problem of attitude.
If a woman works with the thought of helping family and she stands till on her role is ok, but if she works outside just thinking about her career deliberately neglecting her family, in this case we have a problem.

The Perfect Wife
10 How hard it is to find the perfect wife.
She is worth far more than jewels.
11 Her husband depends on her.
   He will never be poor.
12 She does good for her husband all her life.
   She never causes him trouble.
13 She is always gathering wool and flax
and enjoys making things with her hands.
14 She is like a ship from a faraway place.
She brings home food from everywhere.
15 She wakes up early in the morning,
cooks food for her family, and gives the servants their share.
16 She looks at land and buys it.
She uses the money she has earned and plants a vineyard.
17 She works very hard.
She is strong and able to do all her work.
18 She works late into the night
to make sure her business earns a profit.
19 She makes her own thread
   and weaves her own cloth.
20 She always gives to the poor
and helps those who need it.
21 She does not worry about her family when it snows.
She has given them all good, warm clothes.
22 She makes sheets and spreads for the beds,
and she wears clothes of fine linen.
23 Her husband is a respected member of the city council,
where he meets with the other leaders.
24 She makes clothes and belts
and sells them to the merchants.
25 She is a strong person,  and people respect her.
She looks to the future with confidence.
26 She speaks with wisdom
and teaches others to be loving and kind.
27 She oversees the care of her house.
   She is never lazy.
28 Her children say good things about her.
Her husband brags about her and says,
29 “There are many good women,
   but you are the best.”
30 Grace and beauty can fool you,
but a woman who respects the LORD should be praised.
31 Give her the reward she deserves.
Praise her in public for what she has done.

This is as it should be.
I do believe it.
